"Prints for Peace"

International Call for Printmaking 2008 Monterrey Mexico

Open to all artists.  All printmaking techniques except digital ones are accepted.

There is no entry fee.  Prints will become part of the core collection of Prints for Peace Art/Human Development of the Casa Hogar El Refugio- Youth Shelter, Monterrey, NL, México

All prints submitted will form part of a web gallery and will be exhibited in the Leopoldo Carpinteyro Gallery, Instituto Mexicano Norteamericano de Relaciones Culturales, Monterrey, NL, México (www.relacionesculturales.edu.mx). Deadline for submissions is August 20, 2008.

Participation “Prints for Peace”

Deadline: August 20, 2008 Monterrey NL México

The Art/Human Development Workshop invites all Print Artists to participate in a “Prints for Peace 08” in Monterrey NL México.

There is no entry fee in lieu of the donation of a print to the Prints for Peace collection of Arte/Human Development Workshop of Casa Hogar el Refugio-Youth Shelter in Monterrey NL México.

Various exhibits will be organized to promote Peace in the city of Monterrey.
Below is a list of requirements and the submission date for this project:

  1. Prints. Each artist should send one print: original print, created in 2007/2008. Sorry no digital prints this time.
  2. Paper Size : The dimensions of the paper are 10 x 10 inches or 25 x 25 cm. The size of the image might vary and might bleed out of the paper.
  3. Theme. The theme is Peace.
  4. Medium: Entries may feature any type of method of printmaking and should be signed.
  5. Deadline: The deadline for receiving works will be August 20, 2008.
  6. Opening: The opening of the Exhibit will be October 1 at 8:30 pm. At IMNRC in Monterrey NL México.
  7. Exhibits. All Prints will be exhibited. The image should be suitable for all ages. The International Prints for Peace exhibit will be presented at the Leopoldo Carpinteyro Gallery of IMNRC Intituto Mexicano Norteamericano de Relaciones Culturales in Monterrey NL México. http://www.relacionesculturales.edu.mx/ Julian Nava Director of Cultural Promotion IMNRC julian@imnrc.edu.mx , 52 81 80 04 90 90 Monterrey México. The prints will be exhibited in other Galleries to promote Peace in Monterrey NL Mexico. The Photos of the exhibits will be posted in the same page as the Art in the web.
  8. Web Gallery. The prints that comply with the regulations will be exhibited in the Web gallery of the IMNRC http://www.relacionesculturales.edu.mx
  9. Entry Form: The application (entry) form should accompany the work, including the name and the nationality of the artist as well as the title, year and the technique used in the work. Entry form in http://www.relacionesculturales.edu.mx/ and www.art-humandevelopment.blogspot.com

  11. Additional Requirements: In addition, each print must be accompanied with the following information: Artist’s name, title, and media. This information can be printed separately and cut to paper size, or printed and/or pasted to the back of the print.
  12. Information sheet: One typewritten page with your name, address, and e-mail.
  13. Sending Work: Please send by air-mail in a simple packet, unframed, without cardboard window or passé par tout. The print should be protected so that it cannot bend in the mail. Please allow enough time for the print to be here on time. Please send the print as "No commercial value". Please note: packages with declared amounts of money arrive directly in the customs to pay duty. These packages will not be received.
